Prodigy take Week One Opener from Assault

The Washington Prodigy began the defense of their back to back USWFL titles with a 42-0 season opening win over the Keystone Assault at Wilson High School.


The Prodigy were led by running back Cheri Gantt who rushed for 130 yards on 15 carries and 3 touchdowns. Shawntae Barnes added 2 rushing touchdowns on 8 carries for the 2-time defending champions.


The Assault were paced by Rachel Fischer who threw for 61 yards on 4 of 16 passing attempts on the game. 


The Prodigy return to action on April 6th against the DMV Lady Knights and the Assault's next game is also against the Knights on April 13th.
